Description

Dear All,

CBS Professor Rita McGrath will be headlining this year's World Alumni Columbia Event (WACE). Rita will be sharing insights from her new book: Seeing Around Corners: Strategic Inflection Points and the New Strategy Playbook

A strategic inflection point calls into question the taken-for-granted assumptions upon which businesses are based. Inflection points can take a business to new heights – or if they are disregarded or ignored – bring it to ruin.

In this talk, Rita McGrath describes the new context for strategy, one of short-lived competitive cycles, and how this creates the need for a new strategy playbook. She describes how arenas are a more useful construct for anticipating the future than industries, how to think about customers in terms of their jobs to be done, and how to best position yourself to pick up insights from the edges of your organization.

The first twenty attendees to the event will receive a copy of the book.

Refreshments will be served.

Special thanks to fellow alum Vivek Sable '10 for hosting. Hope to see you all for what is sure to be an engaging evening!

Best regards,

The CBS Club of Boston
